Student racing teams and off-road vehicles from colleges around the region will once again tear up some turf at the second annual Baja Butler Bash, which is organized by Grove City College.

Baja Butler Bash will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at SwitchbackMX on Route 8 in Clay Township. The daylong competition is $5.

Fifteen vehicles designed and built by students from Johns Hopkins, Ohio Northern, Miami, Pitt, Grove City and other universities and colleges will compete in a series of trials to determine who has the best designed vehicle.

Grove City College Racing Hosts 2nd Annual Baja Butler Bash

Grove City College Racing is holding the Second Annual Baja Butler Bash on Saturday, Oct. 22, featuring student racing teams and off-road vehicles from colleges and universities across the region.

Fifteen vehicles built by students from Johns Hopkins University, Ohio Northern University, University of Maryland – College Park, Miami University, University of Pittsburgh – Johnstown, and host Grove City College will compete in a series of trials to determine who has the best designed vehicle. There is no limit on the number of SAE-inspected cars a school can enter.

The public is invited to attend a local event this weekend featuring off-road vehicles engineered and designed by college students.

Grove City College Racing Society of Automotive Engineers club is hosting a Baja Butler Bash all day Saturday at Switchback race track.

A total of about 130 students including teams from Pitt, Purdue, Miami of Ohio, Buffalo, and others will join the Grove City students to compete in a four hour endurance race beginning at 2 p.m.

Grove City College Racing will host the Baja Butler Bash this weekend, marking a milestone for students in a campus organization that designs, builds and races off-road vehicles.

The college’s Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) club will host Baja racing teams from other colleges and universities at the daylong competition Saturday, Nov. 13.

Teams will spend the day putting the cars they’ve designed and improved upon through their paces in competition with teams from Pitt, Purdue, Miami of Ohio, Buffalo, Ohio Northern and other colleges and universities.
